Giving Tuesday is a global movement to turn generosity into impact, a day when people everywhere choose to support the causes that matter most to them. At Eco-Soap Bank, this day has always been about community, sustainability, and the belief that small acts can ripple into meaningful change. This year, we’re inviting you to join us in supporting something that will fuel our mission: recycling unused soap, creating jobs for women, and delivering life-saving hygiene to people who need it most.
Every bar of recycled soap begins with incredible effort: lifting heavy bags of scrap soap, sorting discarded pieces by hand, milling them into fresh material, and extruding beautiful, ready-to-use bars. Our team does all of it, the physical, demanding, and essential work that makes our mission possible.
These women are the heart of Eco-Soap Bank. They do the heavy lifting in every sense: supporting their households, sustaining their communities, and helping us recycle thousands of tons of soap each year to provide lifesaving hygiene to people in need.
Right now, our soapmakers move all scrap materials and finished bars manually. This slows production, limits how much soap we can recycle, and how many families we can reach.
An electric forklift will ease their burden.
With a forklift, our teams will be able to move materials more efficiently, safely, and quickly. It will ease the burden on our staff while allowing us to increase output and expand hygiene access to even more communities.

This Giving Tuesday, we’re raising $15,000 to purchase an electric forklift for our Hub in Cambodia. Every dollar donated will go directly toward this upgrade — and thanks to the generosity of a local Pittsburgh foundation, every gift will be matched dollar-for-dollar.
